  • Emilia is an ordinary divorce kid. She goes to school, lives with her Mom and sometimes her Dad, and her life couldn’t be more ordinary. But one day, Emilia’s pet guinea pig bites her finger. Emilia gets a secret ability to transform into furry superhero, who can fly and solve problems with her superpowers. At the same time, the herrings in the nearby Baltic Sea bay are screaming for help. Poisoned water has made them irate, and they’re threatening the peace and quiet in all of town. As the superhero, Emilia takes on to salvage the situation and finds ways to be more courageous in her own life.

Director’s Statement: Emilia’s imagination adds colour to her bleak suburban neighbourhood of grey concrete, and allows her to become the Super Furball: a furry and utterly awkward superhero. With a whiff of anarchy, it’s not simply a neat, brightly coloured vision of a happy childhood. Although it’s a children’s story, it can attract parents too, thanks to relatable characters, absurd observations and comic references. Through this adventure, Emilia is actually solving her own problems. After seeking popularity at the cost of a friendship, she learns to stand up for herself and freely embraces embarrassment. In this sense, it’s a story of growing up. Which is a goal familiar to all of us, although achieved with varying levels of success.
