  • Francis has escaped through Europe, but when he gets on a northbound night train from Helsinki, there is a sudden twist in his journey. He ends up in the same bedroom with Jere, a man hardened by the world, and a stowaway who forces Francis and Jere to join forces and make an unexpected decision. At the same time in Oulu, Vera breaks up with the unpredictable father of her child. All of these people want to move forward in life, but fate has other plans in store for them: when the father of Vera’s child disappears without a trace, the destinies of these three people become inevitably tangled together.

Director’s Statement: It’s hard for us to accept that luck plays such a big role in our lives. We have adopted the idea that we all hold the key to a good life. However, nothing puts our morals to the test more than bad luck. Someone might say that our lives are steered by coincidence, not by free will. Sometimes you just end up being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And then there is something even worse: if you end up being in the right place at the wrong time.
