Note:

This programme is aimed at invited international guests of the Finnish Film Affair. Even though the Panel and the Wrap Up Party on Thursday are aimed mainly at Finnish industry professionals, international guests are welcome to attend if they are interested.

The screening schedule of the Finnish Film Affair will be published in September.

All films in the Finnish Film Affair programme have English subtitles.

The Panel, the Works in Progress -showcase and the Development Workshop and Project Consulting Sessions will be conducted in English.

Changes in the program are possible.

Opening Party of the Finnish Film Affair

Tues 20.9. 20.00-23.00

The Opening Party kicks off the industry event and creates an opportunity for Finns and international guests to get to know to each other in a casual atmosphere. The event is open to everyone with a Finnish Film Affair accreditation.

 

Works in progress: Finnish Films in Development

Wed 21.9. 09.30-15:30, Kinopalatsi 2(around the corner from the hotel)

The Works in Progress -showcase presents a selection of some of the most exciting upcoming Finnish productions to international sales agents, distributors, buyers, festival programmers and representatives of industry press. The showcase will highlight a selection of 21 titles pitched by the filmmakers. The day is moderated by Sweden-based film journalist of Finnish origin, Andrea Reuter. Finnish film professionals with a Finnish Film Affair accreditation can attend the showcase event as observers. The meetings with buyer guests after the pitching session are reserved for the selected works in progress projects only.

 

Industry Panels: VOD / Agents and Managers

Thu 22.9. 09.30-11.00, and 13:00-15:00

This year’s edition of Finnish Film Affair will feature two expert industry panels that will pull back the curtain on the international media business and reveal the best opportunities for Finnish filmmakers. The first panel will present up-to-the-minute information from the most prominent streaming and VOD companies, including what they are looking for and how they like to work with producers and directors. The second panel will include internationally recognized agents and managers who will share step-by-step plans for how to work best with talent representatives. The panels are moderated by Adam Leipzig.

 

Project Consulting Sessions

FRI 22.9. 10:00-16:00

Meetings organized between filmmakers with projects and selected international guests.
